Three of our S4 Modern Studies pupils had the chance to visit the Sheriff Court in Glasgow and witness first hand the proceedings in the Drug Court. As part of their study into Crime and the Law in the UK, Brook Boyd, Callum Byers and Gabriella McLatchie also had the opportunity to question the Sheriff and Social Work Manager for the Drug Team in Glasgow. They saw how alternatives to custody are being used to help rehabilitate offenders and witnessed the impact of substance misuse and long term addiction. They then shared their findings and opinions with fellow pupils – an excellent learning opportunity for all of S4.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
