The Nursery’s Annual Thistle Tea

The Thistle Tea is one of the Nursery’s annual fixtures – parents, grandparents and friends pile into Drumley Hall to hear the Nursery children sing all their favourite Scottish songs including Ye Canny Shove Yer Granny, Three Craws, Ali Bali, Jelly on his Head, Jeanie McCall and Auld Lang Syne. Mrs Lomas says that is is very much a ‘celebration of Scotland and a culmination of all the children’s recent Scottish-themed experiences in the Nursery.’

The children have been looking at all things Scottish. In addition to searching for the Loch Ness Monster, they also spent time learning about castles, the Saltire and the Scottish thistle. The children also explored Scottish rhyming words and tried their hand at weaving tartan and painting Scotland themes pictures. Finally, during the week of Burns Night, the children enjoyed a Burns Supper (we posted photos on Facebook at the time).

This year, your generous contributions totalled £534.29 (at last count) for The Ayrshire Hospice. Thank you from everyone in the Nursery![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
