Wellington Former Pupil Visits the Languages Department

Thirty-five years after leaving Wellington, Lizzie Guttzeit, known as Elizabeth Anne Fullarton during her schooldays, returned to take her place on the other side of the teacher’s desk.

Mrs Guttzeit spent Thursday morning in school with the Modern Languages Department. She told our S4 and S6 about her career path and her life in Germany, where she has lived for thirty years. Our pupils were fascinated to learn more about Cologne, where Lizzie now lives, and enjoyed hearing about the current political situation in Germany. Of particular interest, however, were some of her stories about life at Wellington in the seventies and how much things have changed. Thank you for your time, Lizzie and please come back to visit us any time!

Wellington’s Former Pupil (FP) Association is relaunching this year. If you are a former pupil, please sign up here in order to reconnect with your network, attend school and FP events, give pupils insight into life after Wellington (just like Mrs Guttzeit did this week!) and be kept informed of all the exciting developments going on at Wellington!
