U18 RUGBY v LOMOND

U18 RUGBY v LOMOND SCHOOL

Ayr/Wellington arrived with 15 players only to discover that Lomond could only field 12. Each side therefore started with 12 players. In a game where there was extra space, it was a high scoring game and lot of missed tackles! Having taken an early lead A/W had a bad 10 minute spell where they did not close down the opposition quickly enough, and missed some try scoring opportunities. Now 4 tries behind, the boys rallied and came back to within 3 points. Following a Lomond concussion, A/W were expecting a scrum and had tactics in place to win the game in the closing stages. Due to the Lomond injury we were denied the attacking scrum, and the chance to win the match. The referee blew to end the game and allow treatment for the Lomond player.
