The S1 Maths course aims to further develop pupil skills in Number, Shape and Information Handling. Throughout the course we work on various topics with tasks being individual, group or paired. An investigational approach is given to some of these topics.
We aim to develop skills in Numeracy through weekly non- calculator work. Problem solving is built into our course.
Homework (10-15 mins) is given most nights and can be a variety of tasks.
Assessment is embedded into the course and pupil work is monitored continuously. Pupils sit a more formal examination in the Summer Term.
