Pupils will begin Latin with the much-acclaimed Cambridge Course. This provides a very accessible introduction to the skills which make Latin so worthwhile for all pupils, and lays a better foundation for Standard Grade Latin than other modern courses.

Since the story of Book 1 is set in Pompeii the course provides many opportunities for interesting investigations into the daily life of people in the 1st century A.D.

Senior 1 is a taster course but pupils do begin to understand something of how the language works by reading a story of ordinary Roman people with episodes written in Latin, which increase in difficulty all the time, but at a pace appropriate to this level.
