In June 2010 Wellington was delighted to achieve its first Eco-Schools Green Flag. This is a magnificent achievement for all three areas of the school: the Nursery, Primary and Secondary departments.

The Eco-Schools programme is an international initiative designed to encourage whole-school action for the environment. It is a recognised award scheme that accredits schools who make a commitment to continuously improve their environmental performance. Wellington currently holds Green Flag status.

This Green Flag award is of particular importance for the Secondary department as we are only the second Secondary School in South Ayrshire to achieve this prestigious award. Working towards this over the past year has been challenging and time-consuming but a lot of fun for the pupils and staff involved.
