The English Department recently challenged S1 pupils to respond to literature of their choice, by any means they wish. Pupils responded in a variety of ways, creating artwork, reviews, presentations and film pitches.

Rowan MacDonald embraced the challenge well by creating a striking stop motion animation, summarising the novel “Katy” by Jacqueline Wilson. Rowan has an ongoing interest in filmmaking, and she worked hard on this piece for a month before it was finally complete. The result is creative and charming; the whole class was captivated by her impressive work.

Bravo, Rowan!
