GOLDEN GIRL CLAIR (11/02/2010)
Congratulations to Clair Mowbray who returned to Wellington today to receive her Gold Duke of Edinburgh`s Award.
Clair participated in the DofE for four years at Wellington. She completed her Bronze Award in 2006, Silver in 2007 and Gold in 2009. Over this period, her activities in the DofE sections ranged from jewellery design and animal husbandry to dance and horse riding. She also volunteered as a Brownie Young Leader.
Clair\'s Gold Practice Expedition was in the Trossachs and her Final Expedition in the Cairngorms.
Wellington School has a very strong commitment towards the Duke of Edinburgh`s Award, and the range of opportunities - and the uptake - is increasing steadily. The school is moving slowly towards a 100% uptake of Bronze in S3.
