S1 Rugby vs Jordanhill

In good rugby conditions and a firm pitch, Wellington started well and scored an early try. Jordanhill responded with a try from a good flowing move. This spurred us on and we scored two more tries before half time. The half time score was 11 - 4.

The second half started well with a good forward move off a line-out which led to a score in the corner. Jordanhill continued to push forward and managed to score another try. The team’s defence was very good and Elliot Brady made outstanding cover tackles at full-back. We then responded with another try scored by Hamish Hamilton under the posts. We lost Gavin and Ivan to injury late on in the game, but still managed to hold out to the final whistle.

S1 Match report by Johnny McCorkindale (S1 Captain)

The Wellington P7 team took on an impressive Jordanhill side away in Glasgow.
This was the P7’s first game in 8 weeks! Due to injuries and no substitutes, some players had to play out of position. In the first half Wellington conceded an early try. However, two unconverted tries gave Wellington a half-time lead. Throughout the game, Wellington had super rucking and great support play. Jordanhill equalised with a nice try, but this made Wellington even more determined to win. Suddenly a crash ball gave Josh Lightbown the opportunity to score, and the try was converted. It was a great team effort and a good win to Wellington ending 10-7.
