WELLINGTON SUPPORT FOR SEASCAPE CHARITY (03/11/2009)
Wellington School was pleased to participate in the SeAscape charity concert on Friday night at the Cathedral of Saint Margaret, Ayr.
The Girls` Madrigal Group started the evening and performed two pieces: `Just a single voice` and `For Good`.
The main photograph shows them singing their first piece.
Next, Rosalind Shrinivas (also a member of the Madrigal Group) delighted the audience with 2 contrasting pieces on the clarinet.
Ross Martin (already busy practising as the lead in this year\'s School Show and a star of Les Miserables two years ago) gave an impressive performance of the songs `Somewhere` and `Have you met Miss Jones`.
Our items were concluded by the jazz quartet: Mina Green, Graham Lindsay, Charlie Macneal and Burns Tennent Bhohi, playing their arrangement of that classic jazz piece `Sweet Georgia Brown`.
Wellington School has a good reputation for their involvement with local and national charities and Friday night was another outstanding event.
SeAscape provides a rent deposit guarantee scheme, tenancy support and a befriending service in South Ayrshire. Since 1999, they have helped people aged eighteen and over who are in housing need and wish to rent a property from a private landlord but do not have the deposit.
