POP STARS AT WELLINGTON (04/09/2009)
In a tour to Wellington, pop sensation IDAS took time out to record a track with Caitlin Brady in our new recording studios.
Earlier, he sang to an enthusiastic audience drawn from throughout the school and talked to the pupils about his route into music and his part in the upcoming performance at the switch-on of the Blackpool lights.
After signing autographs and chatting to individual pupils, IDAS visited the School’s new recording studio, where he gave advice to the winner of Wellington’s own talent show, Caitlin Brady.
Our new studio consists of a spacious live room and adjoining control room. The studio is equipped with the very latest state of the art \'Protools\' software, automated command surface and is based around the new MAC pro. The purpose built facility is free standing with insulated walls, floor and ceiling and has all the necessary condenser mics and ancillary equipment required for a professional recording.
The studio now gives us the means of offering our new music technology courses from S1-S6. and we have many students already signed up for the SQA intermediate2 and higher courses \'Music Performing with Technology.
