D OF E GOLD EXPEDITIONS TO KNOYDART & NORTH MORAR (24/08/2009)
From Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August Wellington pupils undertook their Gold Level Assessment Expeditions in Knoydart & North Morar.

The following pupils took part:

4 day and 80km Gold Level Assessment Expedition.

Monday
Left school at noon to travel to Mallaig for ferry transfer to Inverie on Knoydart. Camped at Knoydart Foundation campsite.

Tuesday
Journey to the remote north coast of Knoydart. Dry weather to start. Heavy rain later in the day and a wet night.

Wednesday
Very wet weather throughout the day. Long day travelling to camp at Sourlies bothy at the head of Loch Nevis. All soaked to skin!

Thursday
Walked along shoreline of Loch Nevis and across pass to camp beside Loch Morar.

Friday
Final day walk from near South Tarbet back to Mallaig.
