Day Trips and Excursions
Day trips and excursions take place on a regular basis. During the course of the session, trips may be organised to Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, The Science Centre, Glasgow, Burns Cottage and The Burns Experience, Alloway, Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, The Baird Museum, Cumnock, Culzean Castle, New Lanark and Blair Drummond Safari Park, Stirling.

In addition, classes have gone to the cinema in Ayr, sung carols on the radio at Ayr Hospital and, of course, attended a performance of the local panto.

Residential Trips
We strongly believe that being away from home for short periods with friends and known adults helps children develop their independence and individuality. Primary 5 spend two nights and three days in May on Arran at The Lochranza Field Centre as part of their Local Study topic while Primary 6 have an Activities Week (Monday to Friday), also in May, at Barcaple, near Newton Stewart, where they learn to canoe, abseil, tree climb and orienteer, go mountain biking and do rope courses and archery.
