We have a large, thriving Nursery located within the main Primary Department at Drumley House that offers a wide range of educational experience for children from the age of three years upwards. A total of sixty places are available for children in the ante-pre school and pre-school years. The Nursery operates in partnership with South Ayrshire Council.
The Nursery is managed by the Head of Nursery who is assisted by a team of 8 Nursery Nurses all of whom are qualified and experienced in providing pre-school education and care. The Nursery opening hours are from 8.15am until 5.30pm each day during term time. We provide a stimulating educational programme through play each morning with wrap around care available. Our Nursery has very effective links with the Infant Department thereby facilitating smooth progression from Nursery to Primary 1. A firm belief in the value of pre-five education is part of the ethos of the school.
The Nursery fully engages with the A Curriculum for Excellence 3-18 to help children to gain the skills necessary to become Successful Learners, Confident Individuals, Responsible Citizens and Effective Contributors and progress seamlessly to Primary 1 and beyond.
A robust system of internal quality assurance is used in addition to regular external inspection by Care Commission and HMIe. Copies of reports are available.
Children may enter the ante-pre school class at any convenient point after their third birthday.
