Wellington School Association
The Wellington Association is a group of volunteer parents (and occasionally, as now, a teacher/parent) whose purpose is to organize and run events involving the parents and pupils at the school. We meet on average, 6 times in the year.
One of the main aims of the Association is to raise funds, which can be donated to purchase 'special' things over and above the provision made by the school. Additionally, the aim of these events is to offer a wide range of activities where parents can interact in the life of the school. We are always open to new suggestions and volunteers.
At present the Association activities include:
The Christmas Carol Concert
Parents are invited to listen to various pupil musical performances and to join in festive singing. The Association handles the seating ad refreshments and the music department ably provides the music.
A Parents Burns Supper (New this year )
This will offer parents the opportunity to enjoy the performances normally reserved for the senior school. A simple meal is planned.
The Wellington Ball
This is a formal dinner dance for parents and is the main fundraiser for the Association. No real educational purpose - just fun and funds!
The Art Exhibition
The Association assists the Art Department in mounting the June exhibition by providing materials, manpower and prizes.
The Sports Day BBQ
The Association runs this event largely as a fun evening of games and food to mark the end of the session.
