Millie the Mascot Attends Her First Hockey Match

Every week, short match reports are submitted by the Captain or Deputy of the hockey teams for the Fixtures & Results page of the website. This week, the S1 side did particularly well. Victoria Laird, Team Captain, reported the following:

“We played against Marr College on Saturday morning at Cambusdoon. Everyone played enthusiastically and this was reflected in the final score 0-1 to Wellington. Well done to Amy Grassom for getting player of the match!”

The hard work and dedication of the hockey teams is undeniable but the girls have a new mascot who is doing wonders for team morale. On Saturday, Millie the mascot accompanied Miss Jones to the playing fields in her new Wellington kit which was made by Mrs Holly Saunders, a Wellington parent and the Thrift Shop organiser. Millie’s jumper kept her cosy as she cheered on her teams throughout the morning – it would appear that old bobble hats and threadbare blazers are still useful!
