In the Spring Term of 2017, two pupils from last year’s S6, Lucy Stewart and Vivek Koname, attended Assembly to collect their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award badges.

The DofE has a positive impact on young people’s lives in terms of their personal development and employability, and on wider society (charities gain active and engaged volunteers, businesses hire work-ready recruits). The Gold Award encompasses various task areas which participants must complete: Volunteering (12 months), Physical and Skills (one section for 12 months and the other section for 6), Expedition (4 days/3 nights), Residential section (undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from home for 5 days and 4 nights). Well done Lucy and Vivek!
