Double win for the cricket teams at Balgray!
The Wellington Junior team won their match by 111 runs. We batted first and Richie Simpson along with Jack Lynch scored 57 and 31 runs respectively to set a formidable score of 148 for 1.
Richie took three wickets for 3 runs in his four overs which included two maidens. Josh Martin continued his wicket haul, from the previous match with Holyrood, taking four wickets for 11 runs. Lucas Short took one wicket for 10 runs. In a very good fielding performance, there were five catches in by Nickon Tajali, Laurie Shinn, Richie Simpson, Callum Shinn and Josh Martin.
The Primary team won their match by 39 runs.Wellington batted first. A solid partnership of 66 runs between Robbie Galbraith and Josh Porter put Wellington in the driving seat with Josh going on to score 54 not out in a first class performance at this level. Josh, then went on to take four wickets for 7 runs to complete an excellent all round performance. One of his wickets was caught and bowled. Euan Porter took one wicket for 8 runs and Osman Omer one wicket for 16 runs. However, Euan Collins deserves a special mention for taking two wickets in his first game of cricket. Three very good catches were taken by Rhuaridh Hunter, wicket keeper Scott Goold and Euan Porter.
